Day 6: Game Drives

Kidepo is known as one of Africa’s last remaining wilderness and was recently voted in the top three national parks in the whole of Africa, and it’s easy to see why. It combines unbelievable landscapes with a wide variety of big game, including three big cat species; lions, leopards and cheetahs. Also, because of its remoteness, you often almost have the park to yourself. In the morning you will go out on a game drive at sunrise which is the best time to see the animals. In the afternoon you will take the drive to the valley itself, which offers excellent views and is the one of the few places you can see the ostrich in the whole of Uganda. Alternatively you can do a nature walk to spot animal tracks and take in your surroundings on foot.

The falls themselves are breath-taking and a great place to have a swim at the bottom, that is if you don’t mind the cold water. Once you have arrived you will be welcomed with a delicious evening meal, exactly what you need after your long drive.

In the afternoon you will transfer to Jinja, the adventure capital of East Africa, where your guide will leave you for the next two nights. Your accommodation is fairly budget but offers excellent views of the Nile and has a great atmosphere to it. There is a great menu full of delicious and relatively cheap food.
