This 3 days Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Safari is specially designed for those who are short of time, but want to see the rare and endangered mountain gorillas. It showcases the beautiful highlands of Uganda which boasts incredible scenery. And also hospitable local villages and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This is where you will be able to enjoy a thrilling visit to the amazing mountain gorillas – a trip of a lifetime!
Day 1: Depart Entebbe Airport to Kihihi Airstrip.
At Entebbe International airport, you will have a flight to Kihihi Airstrip by Aerolink, you will be met by your guide, briefed about your upcoming activity and transferred to your lodge.
Depending on the arrival time, you can decide to visit a coffee farm to have an experience on how coffee is made by taking you through different processes, Community walk which is also productive in a way that you will be able to meet the indigenous people (Batwa)who used to live in the forest particularly Bwindi Impenetrable National Park before it was gazetted, The Medicine Man, Local Breweries and the Women’s Centre. All these other activities are “Optional”.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking
After an early breakfast you will set off towards what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your safari, the unforgettable experience that is Mountain Gorilla tracking. After trekking through the dense forest to where the Gorillas were found the day before, you begin your tracking, searching for the largest primate in the world. Upon sighting, you will stay with them for one hour as they eat, rest and bond with their young ones . To reach them it can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 4 hours, so be prepared for a long trek through the humid rain-forest. Afterwards you will spend the afternoon relaxing and taking in your beautiful surroundings.
Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable – Entebbe
Depart for Kihihi for our flight back to Entebbe marking the end of our trip.
